Group Classes - User Created Classes

Pick a video, schedule your group class, and invite your friends and coworkers! Watch the video together and chat in real-time before, during, and after the class.

Here is how Grokker users create their own class from the video page. The Group Class option is available for all Grokker videos. 

1. Create a class by clicking on the “Group Class” button

A dialog box will appear asking user to select the desired date and time before clicking “Create Class.” 

2. Invite friends/coworkers. Another dialog box will appear, asking user to invite friends or coworkers to the class. User can search for friends/coworkers who are registered users or input (anyone’s) email addresses. Note: A friend/coworker who is not already a registered Grokker user will, by default, need to be invited via email. (They will be asked to sign up for Grokker before they can join the class.) 

Invitees will immediately receive an email saying “{Username} has invited you to join a group class” with video name and details; email notes that the person will receive a reminder email 10 minutes before the class starts.

When the user is done adding friends, they “close” the dialog box and are brought to their group class page. Here, they can see the names of people they invited, cancel the booking, or invite (more) friends.

3. Join class. The user who created the class and their invitees will receive an email notification 10 minutes before class starts. They can click through to join the class. If they are not a registered user, they will be brought to a sign up page to join Grokker.

The real-time group chat will be available 10 minutes before, during, and 10 minutes after the video starts playing.
